Two children can be equally smart. Equally hardworking. Equally full of dreams. Yet one becomes a doctor, an engineer, or a successful entrepreneur because someone invested in their future.
The other may never discover what they were truly capable of, not because they lacked potential, but because they lacked the opportunity.

WHY CHARITY & MERCY FOUNDATION EXISTS

Two children can be equally smart, equally hardworking, and equally full of dreams. Yet one may have access to quality education, mentorship, tools, and support that help turn those dreams into reality.
The other may never discover what they were truly capable of—not because they lacked potential, but because they lacked the opportunity.
At Charity & Mercy Foundation, we believe that should never be the story.
THE BOYS AND THE BATTERY
Not long ago, while visiting my aunt in the village, I met three boys who couldn’t have been older than eleven or thirteen.
One of them was holding what looked like a homemade battery, pieced together from scraps of metal and old wires. Another held a wooden fan with blades fashioned from discarded metal.
Curious, I walked over to watch.
The first boy connected the battery to the back of the fan. Slowly, the blades began to turn. The third boy looked at it and said they needed to disconnect it and adjust the wiring to make it work better.
Their English wasn’t perfect. But their curiosity, their creativity, and the quiet confidence in their hands spoke louder than words.
I asked who had built it.They smiled proudly
“We Did.”
Then they told me the rest of the story.
A visitor had once brought televisions and standing fans to their village. When one of the fans stopped working, it was thrown away.
The boys picked it up.
They repaired it.
When the owners discovered it was working again, they asked for it back.
The boys were upset.
So they made a decision.
“We’ll Build Our Own.”
And They Did.
What If Someone Invested?
Standing there, I couldn’t stop thinking:
What if these boys had access to proper tools?
What if they had mentors?
What if someone invested in developing their gift?
How many inventors, engineers, and innovators are hidden in communities across this country simply because no one has stopped to invest in their potential?
